Data Processing & Privacy Compliance

How H.K.L.P.G. handles personal data under Canadian privacy law and the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act (TDGA).

01

Categories of Data Collected

We collect personal data submitted via contact forms, service inquiries, and account registration: full name, business email, phone number, company name, and message content. Technical data includes IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and page interaction events collected through analytics services. For hazardous materials shipments, we may process shipping documentation that includes consignor and consignee contact details as required under TDGA Section 3.1.

02

Purpose and Legal Basis

Data is processed to respond to service inquiries, provide logistics quotations, manage hazardous materials transport documentation, and comply with federal regulatory obligations under the TDGA and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Where consent is required, we obtain it prior to collection. Processing for analytics and marketing is based on your explicit consent, which may be withdrawn at any time.

03

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses session cookies for essential functionality (e.g., form submissions) and persistent cookies from third-party analytics providers to measure site traffic and user behavior. You may disable cookies through your browser settings, but this may affect site performance. We do not use cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising or share data with ad networks.

04

Data Sharing and Third Parties

Personal data may be shared with trusted service providers who assist in website hosting (Canada-based servers), email delivery, analytics processing, and CRM management. These processors are contractually bound to protect your data and may not use it for any purpose beyond the services we engage. We do not sell personal information to third parties. Where required by law or regulatory audit (e.g., Transport Canada inspection), we may disclose data to authorized government bodies.

05

Data Retention and Security

Personal data is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this notice or as required by Canadian record-keeping regulations (e.g., TDGA shipping records for two years). We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including encrypted transmission (TLS 1.2+), access controls, and regular security audits. In the event of a data breach, affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada will be notified as required by law.

06

Your Rights and Contact

Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy laws, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent for processing. To exercise these rights or raise a privacy concern, contact our Privacy Officer at info@hklpg.com or by mail at 101 Schmidt Port Apt. 400. We will respond within 30 days. If unsatisfied, you may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. This policy was last updated on January 15, 2025.
